Teachers have been outed for moonlighting in adult content like OnlyFans. Do they have legal recourse?

The question is whether firing people moonlighting in the adult entertainment industry has a disproportionate effect on women and LGBTQ+ people, said attorney Derek Demeri, an employment law expert in New Jersey.

Lawyers for two Georgia election workers are asking jurors in a federal case to make Rudy Giuliani pay the women tens of millions of dollars in damages for false accusations he made against them that led to threats and racist harassment. In a Washington courtroom on Monday, the lawyers played recordings of the threats the women received after Giuliani falsely accused them of fraud while pushing Donald Trump’s baseless claims after the 2020 election. The trial in the civil case will determine how much the Trump adviser might have to pay the women. The former New York City mayor has already been found liable in the defamation lawsuit brought by Ruby Freeman and her daughter, Wandrea “Shaye” Moss.

Fire alarms blared in the background of recorded 911 calls that police released of terrified students and faculty this week at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. The callers hid inside locked offices and under desks while shots were fired outside. Three professors were killed and a fourth was wounded. The gunman had more than 150 rounds of ammunition and a list of targets when he opened fire at the university's business school on Wednesday. He was killed in a shootout with police. The university’s president said Friday that students and faculty don’t have to return to campus this semester.

A law enforcement official says the gunman who killed three people and critically wounded a fourth in an attack at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas was a professor who unsuccessfully sought a job at the school. The official spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because they weren’t authorized to release the information publicly. Students and professors barricaded themselves in classrooms after shots rang out shortly before noon Wednesday. Authorities say the gunman went from floor to floor in a building that houses the business school and was killed in a shootout with police outside. There’s no immediate word on a motive for the attack.
